Discover the 2024 Jeep Wrangler: Four Essential Features to Know

Jeep has kept the Wrangler's classic design, maintaining its unique style in the 2024 model year. While the seven-slot grille has been updated, the vehicle's persona has been retained. The antenna is now integrated into the windshield, and ten new wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches are available, along with ten body color options. The interior features a horizontal layout, and contrasting stitching adds style. Additionally, the Uconnect 5 multimedia system comes equipped with a 12.3-inch display.

A Comprehensive Lineup

Jeep has expanded the 2024 Wrangler lineup with two new models: the Rubicon X and the Wrangler Sport S 4xe. The Rubicon X is available with either a gas engine or a 4xe hybrid setup, providing more off-road capability and additional gadgets than the Rubicon model. It includes navigation, 12-way adjustable seats, a nine-speaker Alpine stereo system, and nappa leather seats. The Rock-Trac full-time transfer case, off-road camera, steel bumper, and body-colored hardtop and fender flares boost its off-road performance. The Wrangler Sport S 4xe is a more affordable plug-in hybrid model, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors, generating 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. According to Jeep, the 17-kWh battery provides an electric range of 21 miles (34 km). The 2024 Wrangler lineup includes the Sport, Willys, Sahara, High Altitude, Rubicon, and Rubicon 392 trims, all still available with the 2.0-liter turbo (270 hp/295 lb-ft), 3.6 Pentastar V6 (285 hp/260 lb-ft), and 6.4-liter V8 (470 hp/470 lb-ft) engines.

Geared for Off-Roading

The 2024 Wrangler comes with four standard skid plates that cover the fuel tank, transfer case, transmission oil pan, and other important components. The five-link coil spring suspension at all four corners remains unchanged, with Rubicon models boasting an 8,000 lb capacity Warn winch (factory installed), a gear ratio of up to 100:1, and a Dana 44 HD Full Float solid rear axle that allows for increased tire size and towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.

New Technologies

The Wrangler will be the first Jeep to offer integrated off-road adventure trail guides with the introduction of Trails Offroad (late availability). The feature evaluates trails and difficulty levels. Occupants can create up to five user profiles with the infotainment system, and two devices can be connected simultaneously. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4G LTE Wi-Fi modem, and TomTom navigation.

Safer Than Ever

This year, over 85 active and passive safety features are available in the Wrangler. Second-row outboard seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters are now included, as well as structural enhancements for side-impact performance. The vehicle comes equipped with standard first- and second-row side-curtain airbags, a pre-collision system (Sport S and above), and adaptive cruise control (Sport S and above). Reservations are now open in the U.S., with the 2024 Wrangler set to arrive in dealerships later this year. Details for the Canadian market are expected to be announced shortly.
